Whenever anyone finds out about our family project, one of the first things they ask is "where did you get that idea?" As much as I would like to take credit and claim responsibility, I must give credit where credit is due. The truth is..... it was all Mr. Ayden Fox's idea....
Basically, during dinner one night while we were eating something in the Mexican genre, Ayden asked where the food we were eating came from and if other countries had their own special food. This launched a big discussion/debate about foods, countries, and what belonged to whom. We had so much fun talking/arguing about different places that Ayden thought it would be great if we started exploring different countries and their cuisine. Since his dad and I would do pretty much anything for our handsome little man, we reluctantly accepted the challenge. Thus began what Ayden proudly named "The Ford Family Country Challenge".

Here is the plan...
Once a week we are going to cook a meal from a different country. We will take turns picking starting from youngest to oldest. We bought a big map to hang in Ayden's playroom and we will be marking our conquests. To add to the fun, we make sure to have lots of fun facts about each country to discuss during dinner. Hopefully, we will find some great new recipes and maybe even learn a thing or two. And since I have been toying with the idea of starting a blog I figured this would be a great opportunity to dip my toes into the blogging world all while documenting our journey.
Here we go!
Glad you joined the blog world! I am a blog stalker!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, by the way!
