The Ford's do Finland for the 4th.

Oh, what fun we had on the 4th of July.  There are so many things that made my day/night fantastic...

To list a few...
  1. I had the WHOLE day off.  Which I fully enjoyed after a 15 hour day at the salon on Sunday.
  2. Adam got off early.
  3. My momma came over to spend the day and treat Ayden to a movie.
  4. I was itching to put Zoie in her cute little red, white, and blue halter top.
  5. Fireworks and tailgating.
  6. Oh yea...It was also Finnish night!

Last week it was my turn to pick the country.  After 3 spins and a blindfold (good idea mom!) I landed on Finland.  America would have been perfect but we have already crossed that lovely country off our list.  To be honest our Finnish food tasted very American.  Even had a little Thanksgiving vibe to it.
Our Menu:
Kanaviillokki (click for recipe)  It had roasted carrots, onion, celery, and parsnips.
Finnish Gravy

Yumm....

As usual we passed our facts around and learned that....
Santa Clause comes from Finland.  And still lives there according to Ayden.
Nana learned that Finland hosts World Champion events with competitions such as, Mosquito swatting, Wife carrying, Mobile phone throwing, and Swamp soccer. -Way to be creative Finland!

We quickly cleaned up dinner, loaded up the car, and headed out to see some fireworks.

Ayden was making origami out of the dollar that I HAD to pay him in order for him to allow his picture to be taken.   The next Donald Trump, my friends.

Secret to keeping a baby happy several hours after bed time?  M&M's  The evidence is all over that cute little face

Light fight!

Ayden made me a hat.

When we got home Adam couldn't resist the urge to light his own fireworks.  Yes folks, we were totally those people.

So proud.

So in conclusion, we learned that although I am sure Finland is a wonderful place, it doesn't get any better then the USA.

Next week is Ayden's week....He picked Italy!  Foridino's here we come ;)

On a side note, I would like to thank Rachel Sarti who's adorable blog inspired me to give mine a much needed facelift.  Check out her blog here, you won't regret it :)
